Team Profile
Egypt’s men’s national volleyball team qualified for the 2005 World Grand Champions Cup after beating arch rivals Tunisia to take the African Nations Championship title in September. This will be the first time ever that an African team participates in the World Grand Champions Cup.

The team’s achievement is built on a solid record at international level that started with the team’s participation in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and continued with the 2002 World Championships in Argentina and the 2003 World Cup in Japan.

At regional level, in addition to holding the African Nations Championship title, Egypt also took the gold medal at the 2005 Mediterranean Games in Spain, as well as the 2004 All Arab Games in Algeria and the 2003 All Africa Games in Nigeria.
